The Agera Agency Calgary giveaway pages. Last updated October 7, 2026.
This policy explains what personal information The Agera Agency ("we", "us") collects through the giveaway pages at theageraagency.com/giveaway, why we collect it and the choices you have. We are based in Calgary, Alberta, and we handle personal information in line with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). The short version
- We collect what you type into the application form, plus basic browsing data from the Meta Pixel.
- We use it to run the giveaway, judge the applications, contact you about the result and the promotional offer and, if you agreed, tell you about our services.
- We never sell your information.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing reece@theageraagency.com.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you send an application we collect what you enter: your name, phone number, email address, business name, your answers about what you sell, how you get customers and why your business, whether you can commit to the minimum ad spend, your answer to the skill-testing question and the two boxes you tick. We also record the date and time, the page you applied from and, when they are present in the link you arrived on, the campaign tags Meta adds to it. Please do not include sensitive information, such as health or financial account details, in any answer.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider records basic technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view, to keep the site secure and working. The pages also use the Meta Pixel, described below.
How we use your information
- To run the giveaway: receive and judge applications, pick the winner and alternate winners and keep a record of who applied.
- To contact you by phone, text and email about the result, about the promotional offer and about anything we need to confirm in your application.
- With your consent, to tell you about The Agera Agency's services. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
- To measure how well our ads work and show relevant ads, using the Meta Pixel.
- To keep records we are required to keep by law, including records the Competition Act expects a contest sponsor to keep.
If you win, the official rules explain how your business name, the videos and the results may be shown in our portfolio. We will not use your information for any other purpose without asking you first.
Consent and messages
When you tick the contact box on the application form, you agree that we can contact you by phone, text and email about the giveaway and about our services. You can withdraw that consent at any time: reply STOP to any text, use the unsubscribe link in any email or email reece@theageraagency.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it. If you withdraw consent before the winner is announced, we may not be able to reach you about the result.
Cookies and the Meta Pixel
These pages use the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms, the company behind Facebook and Instagram. The pixel places cookies in your browser and tells Meta when you visit a page or send an application. When you send an application, we also send Meta a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address, phone number and name through Meta's Conversions API, so Meta can match the application to the ad you came from. Hashing turns them into codes that can't be read back as your details. We use it to measure our ads and to show our ads to people who visited these pages. Meta handles that data under its own privacy policy. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may also set a small cookie that is strictly necessary to protect the site from bots.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and the pages will still work. You can change your ad preferences in your Meta Accounts Center, and you can opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies at YourAdChoices.ca.
Who we share it with
We never sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the giveaway, and only as much as they need:
- Website hosting: Cloudflare.
- Form processing and records: n8n and Google Workspace (a spreadsheet of applications and email).
- Advertising measurement: Meta, through the Meta Pixel.
These providers must protect your information and may only use it to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Where your information is stored
Some of our service providers store information on servers outside Canada, mainly in the United States. When that happens, your information is protected by our agreements with those providers, but it may be accessible to courts and authorities in that country under its laws.
How long we keep it
We keep applications until 12 months after the giveaway closes, so we can answer questions about how the winner was chosen and offer spots from the waitlist, unless you become a client. Client information is kept for as long as the law requires, for example seven years for tax records. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous. You can ask us to delete your application sooner at any time, though we may keep a note that you applied and were removed.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), password-protected accounts with two-step sign in and access limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will tell you and the relevant authorities if a breach puts you at real risk of significant harm, as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it, correct information that is wrong or incomplete, delete your information where we are not required by law to keep it, or stop contacting you. Email reece@theageraagency.com and we will reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. If you are not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Children
The giveaway is for business owners aged 18 or older. These pages are not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the giveaway or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
